The New Worck 330 of Eddy De Clercq
A 20 minutes taster featuring a selection of some of the most typical tracks of Eddy De Clercq’s new album ‘Musique Exotique’! 11 new songs, mostly Eddy’s own compositions, were recorded around the world; South Africa, Brazil and the Netherlands!
Eddy De Clercq:
“In South Africa I recorded with Yemu Matibe, a young talented African singer who sings in the Xhosa language and who can be heard on ‘G-Town’. Lisa Noya is a young Dutch singer who makes her singing debut on ‘Kembali (Homelands). Part of the song is sung in the language of Molucca, the Indonesian island where she comes from. And I worked with Roma gypsies from the Balkans and members of the group Mala Vita who remixed the song ‘Tzigane’ and who also played on the track ‘Lucida’.
Multi-instrumentalist Praful can be heard on flute and sax in the song ‘Miss Ghana (Afro Baby) while Ghanese singer Consular is responsible for the vocals. I like to describe the album ‘Musique Exotique’ as ‘new Exotica’, a hybrid in which traditional music and Xhosa lyrics from South Africa blend with classical music by Händel or Bach themes and genres as diverse Afro-beat and Balkan grooves are combined.”
The entire album and individual songs are downloadable through iTunes! The CD ‘Musique Exotique’ is available now through Coast to Coast Distribution! Homelands!
